chantal + michael | STOW LAKE AND TWIN PEAKS ENGAGEMENT SESSION

The first time I spoke with Chantal on the phone, I knew immediately that this was the kind of girl I wanted to be friends with, and when I met Michael, I could instantly see why the two of them are partners. Chantal is incredibly bright, quick to laugh and a true romantic at heart. Michael could be similarly described, and the way the two of them obviously love and support each other without reservation, and laugh their way through unforeseen complications (more on this later..), made our Stow Lake and Twin Peaks engagement session such a memorable one!

Chantal described her dream engagement shoot to me as “something effortless and natural,” and I seriously felt like she was reading back to me the goal I’ve always had for my photography. I am passionate about capturing the true, unvarnished personalities of my clients. The honesty and beauty of reality can often hold more loveliness than the most exquisitely posed photo, and it brings me so much joy when the subjects of my photos believe the same thing. Chantal and Michael made it so easy to photograph them as they strolled, danced and laughed their way around Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park.

As we left Golden Gate Park and headed up to Twin Peaks for the iconic view of the skyline, we watched as the famous San Francisco fog, affectionately named Karl, rolled in. Waves of fog were literally pouring over the top of the hill, sending tourists running for cover. Just as we began to wonder if we had to call it a day, we found a tiny, unmarked trail halfway up the hillside where the thickest fog miraculously passed us by! The misty cityscape and the wind blowing around us gave the photos such a romantic quality that Karl the Fog turned out to be a blessing in disguise.. although he certainly made us work for it!

I can’t wait to photograph Chantal and Michael again at their wedding next spring! Take a look at some of the gorgeous photos from their Stow Lake and Twin Peaks engagement session below.
