natalie + eric | CHABOT SPACE AND SCIENCE CENTER OAKLAND WEDDING

When these two first reached out regarding their wedding, I immediately knew it would be an incredible celebration. Eric and Natalie’s wedding was entirely “themselves” to a tee, hitting all the right notes of their love of space, nature, and family.

These two exchanged vows at Oakland’s scenic Chabot Space and Science Center, on one of the prettiest days in July this year. Every detail of their wedding was lovingly crafted and personalized, from all the arranged florals and the table centerpieces (made up of Eric and Natalie’s favorite books!) to the “Up”-inspired mailbox for guest cards. We started the day with getting ready portraits, which were a TON of fun, thanks to a surprise special exhibit on the Art and Science of Pinball! Watching the guys explore all the old-school games and hearing the sounds of the machines chiming really set the tone for the rest of the day.. which was easily one of the happiest, most relaxed celebrations I’ve ever had the pleasure to be a part of.

The ceremony took place on the observatory plaza, flanked on either side by Chabot’s iconic telescopes and planetarium. One of my favorite moments from the day was witnessing Eric’s face change as he saw his bride coming down the aisle for the first time. Underneath a hanging tulle-and-flower altarpiece, Natalie and Eric dedicated their promises to one another, all while a soft wind blew and the sun shone down. After the couple danced back down the aisle, we paid tribute to Natalie and Eric’s love of the outdoors and took our couple portraits in a stunning redwood grove! The sun setting behind the giant trees made for some breathtaking photos, which we paired with the modern architecture of Chabot Space and Science Center for a dramatic finish. Both Natalie and Eric are avid campers and I absolutely love how they made sure to include their passion for nature into their wedding photos.

We returned to the party right as dinner pulled up outside! A taco truck took orders all night long, while the guests were treated to delicious cupcakes and an outdoor dance party, complete with glowsticks. The entire day was such a joy and I’m so thankful to have been a part of it. Special thanks are in order to Courtney Yee for assisting. I hope you all enjoy the photos as much as I do!

  1. So amazing!! Thank you so much again, Cassie (and Courtney)!
