Trips back to Atlanta are such a tornado of activity. Friends to see. Family to visit. Everything to eat!! I’m barely a quarter through this year’s travel schedule and I’m already incredibly thankful for my trusty travel pillow and new Southwest cards (companion pass, here we come!). In the middle of putting miles and miles on my zippy little rental car, I was so glad to get some quiet time in Inman Park with this wonderful pair.
Kathryn Ruth and Allen live in the COOLEST neighborhood in Atlanta. Features include:
I was so pumped to hear that their wedding is taking place at Inman Park, and it was only appropriate to take their engagement photos all around the nearby shops and the Beltline. Walking around the area with KR and Allen (plus their ridgeback pup, Chloe – see official Instagram feed here) felt like taking a new walking tour of the city. We took a winding route through the storefronts and even discovered a mini hideaway park with a lake at a nearby residential complex. It’s insane how much Atlanta grows and changes each year!
Despite the busy streets and weekend crowds (nice weather tends to do that), with the right amount of patience and angling, I felt like we were able to keep our photos intimate and close while still featuring the open spaces and environment of Inman Park. One of my favorite tricks is to crouch just right until any possible distractions – strolling pedestrians, kids on bikes, etc. – are hidden just right behind my subject(s). Or in this case, behind the Beltline rhino bust.
Hope you guys enjoy!
Took a quick “serious faces” break to almost dump KR into the lake.. lovingly, of course.
