Ashley and Josh travelled the world together, from Laos to Cabo, before getting engaged on the romantic coastline in Point Lobos, California. While the two currently call Oregon home, they decided to celebrate their marriage close to their proposal spot, down in scenic Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. These two were wed in a beautiful seaside celebration at La Playa Carmel, inspired by emerging springtime florals and fresh greenery – and not even the surprise May showers could keep the party from going on!
The peaceful morning started with some beautiful bridal details, which were perfectly accented by florals from Tumbleweed Floral Truck and Ashley’s custom monogrammed Mrs. Box. Despite the light rain falling around us, Ashley and Josh chose to do their first look, formal portraits, and ceremony outdoors.. and look how amazing it all was! I LOVE how focused on each other these two were. The entire day was all about enjoying every moment and celebrating together. During a pause in the rain, we took a walk along the beach and captured some of my favorite portraits of the day down by the ocean. Everyone in the bridal party was a wonderful sport about the weather, and we got to take photos both with and without the clear umbrellas that Hitched by Haley had prepared for all the attendees.
The ceremony took place in the outdoor courtyard, in front of a trickling fountain surrounded by a floral arch accented with blossoms by Tumbleweed Floral Truck. Every guest had the BIGGEST smile, despite the drizzle, and seeing Josh’s expression as Ashley and her father came down the aisle was one of my all-time most memorable moments from the entire wedding.
After taking the party inside, guests were greeted by lush garlands, neutral linens, and dark wood chairs that accented the warm tones of the dining space. Ashley and Josh danced the night away underneath chandeliers decked with greenery, and surrounded by all of their closest friends and family. I sincerely loved every single moment of watching this wedding day at La Playa Carmel unfold. I hope you all enjoy the photos!
