I’m guilty of focusing a lot of my displayed work on primarily weddings, anniversaries, and engagements, but family sessions are something quite near and dear to my heart as well. There’s something magical in those last few weeks of waiting for baby to arrive, and I’m so grateful to have gotten the chance to document this momentous time in Rodrigo and Paola’s lives together.. and in such a BEAUTIFUL location too!
We started the session off among the cliffsides and rolling tides of Land’s End, in a casual outfit that allowed these two to hike around the space comfortably. I love the easy trust and grace that these two have with one another. As the sun started to set and cast a delicious golden glow over the scene, these two changed into a “dressier” outfit that matched the sunset tones perfectly! One of my favorite parts of this session was that Paola’s sister and mother had JUST flown in to help Rodrigo and Paola prepare for the upcoming baby, and without even blinking an eye, they immediately hopped in the car to come supervise this San Francisco maternity session! The entire time I was photographing Rodrigo and Paola, Paola’s mom was having a little photoshoot of her own via her other daughter’s cellphone.. haha, guys, it was SO cute!! Of course, I begged them to let me photograph all the ladies together on my own camera – how could I pass that up?? 🙂
I seriously couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful sunset that evening. We took the slow way down to Sutro Baths together, and it was simply breathtaking to watch that golden light dance around these two. There were quite a few people down at the old bathhouse ruins that evening, but you would never know it from the photos! Everyone was so kind and polite as we wandered and took photos through the space, but perhaps they also understood a little bit of the magic that was unfolding in front of them. Rodrigo and Paola’s sunkissed maternity session photos are some of my absolute favorites, and I can’t wait to meet baby Nicolas in a few more weeks! I hope you all enjoy the photos!
