It felt so appropriate that I would celebrate my one-month anniversary of pursuing photography full-time by returning to the place where I first started photographing weddings – which was over 8 YEARS ago!!! To be entirely honest, not much has changed (even though the number of shutter clicks on my camera and the state of my email inbox begs to differ). Wedding trends may come and go, but hearing these shared vows and watching people come together to celebrate something so powerful and universally recognized.. these are feelings that will always touch me tremendously.

I spent the morning floating between different floors in the same hotel, watching Katie don her custom-made suit in one room and Emma slip on her glittery shoes in the next. As I dipped back and forth between the two spaces, I couldn’t help but hear the similar conversations threads in each room. Stories of travel and journeys taken together. Funny shared memories with lifelong friends. Little assurances, here and there, everywhere, of the love between these two: “I can’t WAIT to see Katie..” “I can’t WAIT to see Emma..”

I teared up when Emma dedicated some time in the morning to thanking her father, again when Emma and Katie had their private first look, one more time when the vows were read (these two have an enormous gift for the written word – you can catch the story of how they met here!), again when the dances happened.. oh gosh, I can’t even keep count of the amazing memories from this wedding. Nor can I adequately put into words how much I admire the people and community these two have cultivated! I hope you all enjoy the images.
